Factory Station Puzzle Overview

The Factory Station puzzle is one of the fastest ways to restore power during the “Power Lines” mission, but a misplaced Calibration Unit can make the Tuning Device reject your setup. The solution is simple once you understand the station’s visual clue: all three units must form one straight line between the Tuning Device and the stairs.

Factory Station is one of three subway stations that must be rerouted before the mission can continue. Unlike Perimeter Station, it does not require carrying a timed electrical charge or opening a powered side room. Your main job is finding the three Calibration Units, moving them to the yellow-marked placement squares, and confirming their alignment.

RequirementWhat to do
Mission“Power Lines”
ObjectiveReroute power through Factory Station
Puzzle itemCalibration Unit
Activation pointTuning Device on the platform
Correct patternThree units in a straight horizontal line

Before entering, clear any hostile enemies around the station entrance. Then pass the checkpoint and security barriers, collect the first unit from the upper station area, and descend to the platform.

The station can look confusing because the units are split across several elevations. One is upstairs, one is under the entry stairs, and one is on top of a train. Do not worry about matching a specific unit to a specific square; every Calibration Unit works identically.

Find All Three Calibration Units

Finding every unit is the only part of the control resonant factory station puzzle that requires a little exploration. Search the full platform before worrying about placement, since carrying all three makes it easier to see the intended line.

Calibration UnitLocationRoute hint
FirstSmall shop or compartment above the ticket barriersPick it up before descending to the platform
SecondBehind or beneath the stairs used to enter the platformDrop to the tracks and check the area under the stairwell
ThirdOn top of the train on the left side of the platformClimb or jump onto the train car

Start with the upper-level unit. After entering Factory Station, look in the small room near the stairs and ticket barriers. This is easy to miss if you rush directly toward the platform, so grab it while you are still above ground level.

Next, head down to the tracks. The second unit is behind the staircase where you first arrive on the platform. Step onto the rails and circle behind the stairs to find it resting on the floor.

The final unit sits on top of a train car. From the platform, look toward the left-hand train when facing down the station from the entry stairs. Climb onto the train roof and collect it.

Use this quick checklist before placing anything:

  • You have collected the unit from the upper shop area.
  • You have checked behind the arrival stairs from the train tracks.
  • You have climbed onto the train and taken the rooftop unit.
  • You can see the three yellow-marked squares near the benches and stairs.
  • The Tuning Device is still on the platform, facing the placement area.

If you temporarily set down a unit while collecting another, that is fine. The puzzle does not care which order you place them in. It only checks the final arrangement when you interact with the Tuning Device.

Place the Units in a Straight Line

The key to the Factory Station solution is the line of three marked squares. Two squares sit between the benches, while the third is directly in front of the platform stairs. Together, they make a single horizontal row when viewed from the Tuning Device.

Place one Calibration Unit in each of the three yellow-marked spaces. The two bench-adjacent spaces receive two units, and the remaining unit goes into the square in front of the stairs.

Stand near the Tuning Device after placing the units and look toward the stairs. If the three units appear to make an uninterrupted row, you have the correct answer.

This puzzle is easier than it initially appears because Factory Station has exactly three useful placement locations for the required horizontal pattern. You do not need to experiment with diagonal layouts, place units near the train, or use any nearby electrical equipment.

Once the units are in position, activate the Tuning Device. A successful activation reroutes Factory Station and allows the “Power Lines” mission to proceed.

If the device reacts strangely, moves, or resets the arrangement, treat that as a failed calibration. Interact with it again if necessary to return it to its normal location, then inspect each unit. Most failures happen because one unit was placed in a nearby yellow square that looks correct from the side but is not part of the straight line.

After Restoring Factory Station Power

Restoring Factory Station completes one of the three main station objectives in “Power Lines.” The other required stations are Perimeter Station and East Park Station, and they can generally be completed in the order you prefer.

Factory Station is worth completing early because it teaches the core logic behind the tuning puzzles without adding timed power transfers or teleportation mechanics. The station’s calibration note points toward the same answer: view the machinery from the correct operating angle and arrange it as a lineup.

After the successful calibration, look for the intercom before leaving. Dr. Florez’s call helps introduce the survivor-related objective connected to the mission. Responding through the intercom can add context before you continue toward the remaining stations.

StationMain complicationCalibration idea
Factory StationUnits are on multiple elevationsMake a straight line
Perimeter StationA powered door blocks one unitUse the closest and farthest marked points
East Park StationOne unit is initially inaccessibleUse the Tuning Device to reach the locked room

A few practical tips can save time:

  • Clear enemies outside before trying to navigate the entrance.
  • Take the upper-level unit first so you do not need to backtrack later.
  • Check the train roof carefully; its unit is visible but easy to overlook.
  • Use the stairs and benches as landmarks rather than trying to judge the pattern from the tracks.
  • If the Tuning Device fails, reset your focus to the three aligned yellow squares.

The Factory Station route is also close to the Patterned Factory area. Approach along the main road from the Field Office and continue alongside the factory wall rather than turning into the building. At the crossroads near the mold-covered wall, the subway entrance is on the corner.

FAQ

What is the control resonant factory station puzzle solution?

Find three Calibration Units and place them in the three yellow-marked squares that create a straight line from the Tuning Device toward the stairs. Two squares are between the benches, and the last is directly in front of the stairs.

Where are the Factory Station Calibration Units?

One is in the small upper-level shop near the entrance, one is behind the platform-entry stairs on the tracks, and one is on top of the left-side train car.

Why does the Tuning Device reset the puzzle?

The unit placement is incorrect. Check that all three Calibration Units occupy the three horizontally aligned marked squares, not nearby yellow spaces.

Do I need power cores for Factory Station?

No. Factory Station does not require a timed power-core transfer. Power-core handling is more important at Perimeter Station.

What should I do after Factory Station?

Use the station intercom if available, then reroute Perimeter Station and East Park Station. Completing all three advances “Power Lines” toward the Vanished Station.
